Bit The Cold: With Warm Water, Lemon and Honey

I’m down with a cold. It’s in the air here in London. Lots of coughing and sneezing all around you. Life is telling you to stop and recharge the batteries, but running a business sometimes means you keep going because it’s what you’re most passionate about. And all that popping paracetamol never seems to help. The one thing that I do swear by is an ageold remedy. Super simple, all natural, and beneficial in multiple ways. Just squeeze a half lemon into a glass of hot water and add a teaspoonful of any of our fabulous Urban Grain honeys. You don’t want to use boiling water because that destroys the beneficial properties of honey – you cool it a little, so it melts the honey. Give it a stir, and there’s your cold remedy ready for you. (Of course, as with any advice we give, don’t ignore any persistent symptoms of a cold – please do go see your doctor). Some nutritionists advice taking this drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. In addition to helping you fight those nasty bugs, it’s supposed to help activate your digestive system and is also meant to help your skin glow.

In this post, blogger Crystal Davies recounts what she found from following this practice for a year. Are you as convinced as I am to give this a try? Let us know whether it helped you
