Honey Pot: Greek Mountain Tea

Mountain tea is rich in antioxidants, and can be used for colds, when mixed with a generous dose of pine honey and lemon!

Greek mountain tea (tsai tou vounou) is made of the dried flowers and leaves of the ironwort plant (sideritis), and is reputed to be good for whatever ails ya- digestion, respiratory problems, anxiety, you name it. It’s available everywhere in Greece- and it’s cheap, too.

Great article by Maddy over archaeobaking. Maddy explains how she discovered Mountain tea in Greece and how you can’t find it in the US! (Luckily we have plenty of mountain tea which happens to be organic here in the UK:-)
