Salad with Urbangrains lentils & smoked salmon

Today we have officially started to make our own recipes – and we look forward to your support!

My first creation: Urbangrains lentils Salad with salmon and yogurt.

Time to prepare: 6.4 minutes


  • 1 Urbangrains Lentil Salad in a jar (200g)
  • 1 smoked salmon slice (or more depending on your appetite!) – mine was from Saintsburys (£3.00)
  • 1 dill
  • 1 Greek yogurt
  • 1 slice of toasted bread

So let’s start.

First, strain the olive oil from the lentils – as our lentils have no preservatives whatsoever, we use extra virgin olive oil to as a natural preserving agent.


Make sure you keep the olive for another use – it is a shame to throw it away. Perhaps you can use it for another salad :-)

Next, cut the salmon into thin slices – we will add it to the mix later.

When you are done with that, your task is to chop the dill into fine bits – I used a knife and I cut no longer than 3mm (just messing with you)

And that’s it! All you have to do is toast a nice thick slice of bread and cut it in a cross:

Then, put the lentils in a nice bowl, add the salmon on top, sprinkle with dill, and serve with the Greek yoghurt. Enjoy!

I should mention at this point that Urbangrains’ Lentils also have noodles, which, together with extra virgin olive oil are a powerhouse of nutritional elements in a jar.

Enjoy with a nice chilled Chablis or a crispy Sauvignon Blanc.
